Submission Guidelines

The Journal of Educational Foundations seeks articles and essays in four primary areas: 

1. Exposition on the nature of the educational foundations—essays exploring the foundations, highlight- ing definition, interrelationships, strengths, difficulties, and other aspects of the combined fields;
2. Application of the foundations disciplines to an issue of significance—collections of articles around  a specified theme, bringing to bear the nature of the various foundations disciplines on such themes   Information concerning themes for future issues of the journal may be obtained from the editor;
3. Methodology—articles exploring methodological issues of the foundations fields, stressing similarities  and differences among the disciplines; and,
4. Research—articles describing or reporting on new research  in the foundations fields, with emphasis on interdisciplinary aspects of such research  

Submissions are open and not subject to a deadline, unless for a Special Issue.

All submissions must be: 

1. Submitted solely to the Journal of Educational Foundations, cannot have been previously published; and,
2. Must meet ethical and legal research guidelines.

Complete submissions will include:

1. a complete, blinded text; 
2. a brief 150-200 word abstract; and, 
3. 3-5 keywords

Suggested length limits per type of submission:

• Articles: 6,000-8,000 words, with references (this is negotiable) 
• Book reviews: Approximately 2,000-2,500 words and should provide an analysis of the book’s strengths, weaknesses, and implications for further areas of study and its connections to educational foundations.  
• Artistic Expressions: Approximately 2,000 words accompanying the visual or sound art. 

Style

All submissions should follow APA, 7th edition. Documents must be in .doc or .docx format only. Please do not upload PDF files. 

Review Process

All submissions are double-blind peer reviewed.
